ISLAMABAD: Four terrorists were killed in a clash with government security forces in Khyber district of Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday, the army said in a statement.
The clash was triggered when the troops conducted an intelligence-based operation on the reported presence of the terrorists, and the militants retaliated with intense firing, the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in the statement.
“The terrorists’ hideout was also busted during the operation and a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered,” the ISPR said.
A clearance operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area, the statement added.
