Internationally acclaimed Indian actress Priyanka Chopra has explained why she chose to work in Hollywood, stating that the decision was driven by her desire to expand her professional opportunities rather than leave Hindi cinema.
In a recent interview reported by Indian media, Chopra said she never intended to quit the Indian film industry, but felt restricted for several reasons while working in Hindi films. She explained that she wanted to broaden her career and seek opportunities that would allow her to grow as an artist, which eventually led her to pursue projects in the United States.
The actress noted that more than a decade has passed since she began working internationally, adding that selecting meaningful projects remains challenging.
Responding to questions about choosing between industries, Chopra said she enjoys Indian films and is happy to return to India for work. She emphasized that she does not prefer to choose between Bollywood and Hollywood, expressing her interest in continuing to work in both.
She added that working in the two industries is different due to cultural distinctions, but said the experience has allowed her to adapt creatively and think in diverse ways.
According to her, balancing both worlds has been a unique and rewarding journey.
