Pakistan’s campaign in the T20 World Cup has come to an end despite securing a narrow victory over Sri Lanka in their final group-stage match.
In a closely contested game, Pakistan national cricket team defeated Sri Lanka national cricket team by five runs. Sri Lanka, chasing a target of 213, managed 207 runs in their allotted overs.
However, the win proved insufficient for Pakistan to advance in the tournament, leading to their elimination.
Performance concerns were highlighted, particularly regarding the team’s all-round unit. Shadab Khan scored 118 runs and took five wickets in the tournament. Captain Salman Ali Agha managed 60 runs across seven matches and claimed one wicket.
Similarly, Mohammad Nawaz scored 15 runs and took six wickets in seven appearances, while opener Saim Ayub contributed 70 runs and picked up six wickets.
Despite the victory against Sri Lanka, inconsistent performances throughout the tournament ultimately ended Pakistan’s hopes of progressing further.
