Usman Qadir reverses retirement decision

1 min read

Pakistani leg-spinner Usman Qadir has announced that he is withdrawing his retirement from international cricket, saying he still has the ability and motivation to represent the country.

In a post shared on X, Qadir confirmed his decision, stating that playing in Australia helped him realize that he remains capable of performing at the international level and should continue his career.

He said the decision was made after consulting with his family. Qadir had announced his retirement in October 2024, expressing dissatisfaction with the treatment he received from the Pakistan Cricket Board at the time.

The leg-spinner, who is the son of former Test cricketer Abdul Qadir, has represented Pakistan in one One Day International and 25 Twenty20 Internationals.

Further details regarding his potential return to the national squad are expected from cricket authorities in due course.
