Al-Nassr Football Club expects Cristiano Ronaldo to end his protest and return to the field for the team on next Saturday.
The Portuguese star missed the last two Saudi Pro League matches due to dissatisfaction with the club’s administrative and financial matters.
According to reports, following assurances from club officials, Ronaldo is likely to feature in the league match against Al-Fateh on Saturday.
Earlier, Al-Nassr is scheduled to play an AFC Champions League 2 match in Turkmenistan on Wednesday, but Ronaldo’s participation in that fixture remains uncertain.
Ronaldo had skipped matches against Al-Riyadh and Al-Ittihad, despite returning to training sessions last week. Club officials feared that his protest was damaging the image of both the Saudi Pro League and the club, prompting the league to issue a warning.
The forward has expressed frustration that Al-Nassr has been overlooked for financial support compared to Al-Hilal, particularly regarding the rival club’s major acquisitions during the January transfer window. League authorities, however, clarified that funding is uniform for all clubs, and Al-Nassr has already made significant expenditures this season.
Interestingly, Al-Nassr won both matches in Ronaldo’s absence. The star still has 18 months remaining on his contract.
