Pakistani diaspora celebrates cricket spirit in Singapore

The Pakistan High Commission in Singapore successfully organized the High Commissioner’s Cup 2026, celebrating the strong cricketing tradition and vibrant community spirit of the Pakistani diaspora in Singapore.

The tournament saw enthusiastic participation from several teams, reflecting not only sporting excellence but also camaraderie and community cohesion among the participants.
The final match, played between Friends Cricket Club, led by Qamar Siddique, and Junooni Cricketers, led by Nawaz, turned out to be a thrilling contest and remained intensely competitive until the second last ball of the final over.

Both finalist teams displayed exemplary sportsmanship and competitive spirit throughout the tournament. Friends Cricket Club emerged victorious, and the High Commissioner’s Cup 2026 was presented by High Commissioner Rabia Shafiq to the winning captain, Qamar Siddique, in recognition of the team’s outstanding performance.

The Pakistan High Commission extended its sincere appreciation to all participating teams and players for their valuable contribution to the success of the event, noting that such sporting activities play an important role in strengthening community bonds and promoting people-to-people connections.
