BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolence on Monday to Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari over a serious blast that hit the Pakistani capital late last week.
In his message, Xi said that the serious explosion in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, had resulted in heavy casualties. On behalf of the Chinese government and the Chinese people, he expressed deep mourning for those killed and extended sincere sympathy to the injured and the bereaved families.
Xi emphasized China’s firm rejection of any form of terrorism, strongly condemning the violence and terrorist acts against innocent civilians. He said that the Chinese people always stand with the Pakistani people and will consistently and unswervingly support the efforts of the Pakistani government in combating terrorism, safeguarding national stability and the safety of people.
On the same day, Chinese Premier Li Qiang sent a message of condolence to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
