Pakistan may consider boycotting the T20 World Cup if Bangladesh refuses to play in India, sources say.
Bangladesh’s Sports Adviser, Asif Nazrul, is scheduled to meet the national team players today at 2:00 pm Pakistan time to brief them on the government’s official stance. Reports indicate that most Bangladeshi players are in favour of participating in the World Cup.
Following the meeting, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will communicate its decision to the International Cricket Council (ICC). If the team declines to travel to India, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) may also exercise the option to boycott the tournament.
The ICC has confirmed that there will be no changes to the T20 World Cup schedule, giving Bangladesh the choice to either play in India or withdraw from the event.
