Pakistani clinical psychologist and social media influencer Maheen Anwari has criticised actress and host Fiza Ali over what she described as allegedly poor parenting practices on social media.
Fiza Ali, who rose to fame with the drama Mehndi and has appeared in other popular dramas such as Saat Sur Rishtey Ke, Lagan, Mom, and Saath Nibhana Hai, frequently shares updates on Instagram, where she has 1.3 million followers. She often posts photos and videos not only of herself but also of her 10-year-old daughter, Faraal Fawad.
Maheen Anwari, in a recent Instagram post, shared a video of Fiza Ali and her daughter, stating that she was “deeply disappointed.” She asked why parents, particularly mothers, were using their young children for views and attention on social media.
As an example, she cited a 15-year-old girl she had spoken to who was reportedly struggling psychologically due to her mother’s behaviour online. Maheen Anwari urged Fiza Ali to reconsider her actions, warning that such practices could cause serious psychological harm to children and compromise their innocence.
The post sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some users praised the psychologist for addressing a serious and constructive topic, while others voiced support for Fiza Ali.
