Global football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly preparing to step into the world of cinema.
According to international media, Ronaldo is nearing the milestone of 1,000 career goals. Achieving this feat will make him the only footballer in history to reach the mark.
The 40-year-old recently extended his contract with a Saudi club, keeping him active on the football field until 2027.
Speculation about Ronaldo’s film debut gained momentum after World Cup-winning former Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit hinted in an interview that the Portuguese star could soon appear on the big screen. Petit said Ronaldo has the charisma and influence to become a major film star. He added that it is rare to see athletes in movies, despite other celebrities like rappers and influencers frequently crossing over into cinema.
“Ronaldo has the ability to inspire people and a unique charm,” Petit said. “He is one of the strongest-minded athletes I have ever seen. Imagine him alongside Hollywood’s biggest stars. One day, he could even win an Oscar. Honestly, a movie about his life could be made.”
These comments followed an announcement by Vin Diesel, confirming that Ronaldo will appear in an upcoming Fast & Furious film, with his role already finalized.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo recently topped Sportico’s list of the world’s highest-paid athletes, reinforcing his status as a global icon both on and off the pitch.
