Fareeda Jalal says long hours were routine in past film shoots

Veteran Bollywood actress Fareeda Jalal opened up about the challenges of her early career while commenting on actors’ recent demand for eight-hour work shifts.

Speaking candidly, Fareeda Jalal recalled that in the past, actors did not have the facilities available today, and working long hours was a norm. She said that during outdoor shoots, conditions were particularly harsh, with no ventilated vans or comfortable arrangements.

“Working for extended hours was routine, and no one thought it was a big deal. As a woman, managing outdoor shoots without ventilated vans was extremely challenging. I used to live with my mother, and we endured these hardships together,” she shared.

She added that today, working conditions for actors have become significantly easier, and anyone considering a career in the industry should think carefully before entering.

Currently, Fareeda Jalal is busy preparing for her upcoming film O Romeo, featuring Shahid Kapoor and Tripti Damri in lead roles. The film also stars Nana Patekar, Disha Patani, Aruna Irani, Vikrant Massey, and Avinash Tiwari, and is scheduled for release on February 13, 2026.
