U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he has cancelled all meetings with Iranian officials.
According to foreign media, the announcement follows a statement on Monday in which the president said that any country conducting business with Iran would face a 25 percent tariff on trade with the United States.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized that diplomacy remains the preferred approach for the U.S. in dealing with Iran, while noting that the administration will not rule out military options if deemed necessary.
