KP govt releases Rs4bn for Tirah depopulation activities in Khyber

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the release of Rs4 billion in funds for District Khyber to support Tirah depopulation-related activities.

According to official sources, the Finance Department has sanctioned the amount for utilisation during the current fiscal year 2025–26. The funds will be released through the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

A notification issued by the Finance Department stated that the allocated Rs4 billion will be kept in the PDMA’s Special Deposit Fund account. The funds will not be transferred to any commercial bank accounts.

The department further clarified that all financial and regulatory requirements must be fulfilled before the utilisation of the funds. Officials said the mechanism has been put in place to ensure transparency and proper oversight in the use of public money.

Sources added that the funding is aimed at facilitating planned activities in the Tirah region of District Khyber, in line with government directives and administrative requirements.
