PCB announces sale of Multan Sultans franchise

1 min read

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to immediately sell the Multan Sultans franchise, marking a significant development in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise market.

Sources said that after the successful bids for two new PSL teams, PCB officials are now preparing the paperwork and will soon officially announce the auction for Multan Sultans.

The board expects to receive a substantial amount from the sale. Previously, PCB had announced that it would operate Multan Sultans itself for the current season.

The decision to auction Multan Sultans comes after record-breaking sales of two franchises and growing interest from foreign investors. Following the bidding process for Hyderabad and Sialkot teams in Islamabad, Multan Sultans will also be sold through an open auction in accordance with public procurement rules (PPRA).

Former owner Ali Tareen may participate in the open auction and regain ownership if he meets the conditions outlined in the advertisement. The team will compete in PSL Season 11 under its new ownership.
