Police investigating the Radio Pakistan attack case have reportedly obtained new evidence and have begun consultations on whether to name Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Sohail Afridi, as a suspect.
According to media reports, sources from the investigation team said that the Investigation Officer and SSP Investigation informed the Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police about the developments. The provincial police have also sought assistance from their legal branch to proceed further.
The investigation team has started reviewing the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) report and is holding consultations on its findings. The process of deciding the Chief Minister’s status in the case is reportedly underway.
According to sources, the team is now obliged to submit a supplementary challan. The Radio Pakistan attack case is registered at Shariqi Police Station. USB evidence related to the Chief Minister’s presence at the site had been sent to the Punjab Forensic Lab.
