Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 series against West Indies and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The national selection committee confirmed that Afghanistan will host a three-match T20 series against West Indies from January 19 to 22 in the United Arab Emirates as a warm-up ahead of the World Cup. Rashid Khan will captain the team, with Ibrahim Zadran named vice-captain.
The squad sees the return of all-rounder Gulbadin Naib and fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq. Other key players include Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Mohammad Ishaq, Sediqullah Atal, Darwish Rasooli, Shahidullah Kamal, Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohammad Nabi, Noor Ahmad, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fazal Haq Farooqi, and Abdullah Ahmadzai.
Reserve players named are AM Ghazanfar, Ijaz Ahmadzai, and Zia-ur-Rehman Sharifi.
Afghanistan is placed in Pool D for the T20 World Cup and will play its opening match against New Zealand on February 8 in Chennai.
