Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has expressed his hope to visit Pakistan one day, specifically Peshawar, along with his children, highlighting his family roots in the city.
A video featuring former Foreign Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party leader Hina Rabbani Khar has resurfaced on social media, showing her inviting Shah Rukh Khan to visit Pakistan. During the event, she remarked on his immense popularity in Pakistan, comparable to his fame in India.
Shah Rukh Khan responded by sharing that his family hails from Peshawar, where they still reside in Qissa Khwani. He reminisced about his visits to the city during his teenage years and expressed a desire to take his children there to show them their ancestral homeland.
He recalled fond memories of spending time with his late father in Peshawar and Swat, describing it as some of the most beautiful moments of his life. The actor emphasized his wish to recreate those experiences with his children, noting the city’s unique charm, including its historic Qissa Khwani Bazaar, traditional cafés, and local cuisine such as chapli kebab and dry fruits.
Shah Rukh Khan concluded by saying, “Inshallah, I will definitely come. I want my children to experience the place where my roots are.”
