The National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency (NCCIA) announced significant achievements in combating cybercrime in 2025.

According to the agency’s annual report, investigations into 2,196 major cybercrime cases were completed, resulting in the arrest of 2,902 suspects and convictions in 774 cases.

The report stated that online fraud and financial crime victims recovered a total of Rs 461 million. Over 46,000 fake bank accounts and digital wallets were frozen, and five major local and international cybercrime networks were dismantled.

In a separate initiative, Operation Brown targeting online child exploitation led to 35 arrests.

NCCIA introduced a state-of-the-art AI and machine learning-based cyber intelligence system and is providing advanced cyber investigation training to more than 300 officers.

Through cyber awareness campaigns, the agency reached two million citizens and issued over 30 advisories on phishing, identity theft, and crypto fraud.

NCCIA has strengthened cooperation with Interpol and other international agencies and announced plans to launch a National Cybercrime Reporting Portal next year. Joint investigative teams with key economic sectors will also be established.

DG NCCIA Khurram Ali stated that the agency will continue its zero-tolerance policy against cybercrime.
