The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has completed the technical evaluation of bids for two new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises, paving the way for the next stage of the league’s expansion.
A total of 12 bids were received from investors around the world, of which 10 met the technical requirements and have been declared eligible to participate in the auction.
The auction for the two new PSL teams is scheduled to take place on January 8, 2026, at the Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad. Successful bidders will have the opportunity to select team bases from Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, or Sialkot.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer congratulated the qualified bidders and welcomed the strong interest from both local and international investors. He described the league’s expansion as a significant milestone and said further details regarding the auction process will be announced soon.
The addition of new franchises marks an important step in broadening the PSL’s reach and enhancing opportunities for cricket development and investment in Pakistan.
