The Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi held the passing out parade for the 124th Midshipman and 32nd Short Service Commission courses, marking a ceremonial milestone for the graduating cadets.
Rear Admiral Ahmed Mohammed Ibrahim Al Bin Ali, Commander of the Royal Bahrain Naval Force, attended the event as the chief guest and was welcomed by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf.
During the parade, cadets saluted Admiral Ashraf, while the Bahraini Rear Admiral inspected the parade and presented awards to cadets demonstrating outstanding performance.
Officer Cadet Umar Muhtar of Pakistan and Officer Cadet Al-Dhubi Fahad Hussam Farid of Iraq were awarded the Chief of the Naval Staff Gold Medal. Midshipman Shahab Ahmed received the Academy Dirck, and Midshipman Muhammad Azeer Abbas was awarded the Sword of Honour for overall best performance.
Commodore Zia-ur-Rehman, Commandant of the Pakistan Naval Academy, described the institution as a source of pride and excellence in professional naval training.
Addressing the parade, Rear Admiral Ahmed Mohammed Ibrahim Al Bin Ali expressed gratitude for the invitation and praised the strong bilateral ties between Pakistan and Bahrain. He noted that he himself is a graduate of the Pakistan Naval Academy and encouraged cadets to use their skills to serve their nations. He also highlighted Pakistan Naval Academy’s role in providing professional training to cadets from other countries and emphasized the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Bahrain.
The ceremony concluded with the oath-taking of the newly commissioned cadets, officially marking their entry into naval service.
