At least 257 suspects were arrested during December 2025 for attempting to travel illegally to Iran via sea routes, according to law enforcement officials.
Officials said the arrests were made during operations conducted along the coastal belt, particularly from the Gwadar and Jiwani areas. The suspects were trying to cross from Pakistan to Iran through illegal sea routes.
Among those arrested were 34 foreign nationals. Of these, 30 were Afghan citizens, two were from Bangladesh, and two belonged to Iran. The remaining suspects were Pakistani nationals from different provinces.
According to initial details, 142 of the arrested suspects belonged to Punjab, 12 to Sindh, 63 to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while others were from various districts of Balochistan.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects intended to travel illegally from Iran to other countries. Cases have been registered against all arrested individuals, and further investigations are under way.
