UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed pays first official visit to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: On the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Ruler of Abu Dhabi paid an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan today. This marked his first official visit to Pakistan in his capacity as President of the United Arab Emirates.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed was accorded a warm and cordial welcome on his arrival. A formation of JF-17 fighter jets escorted the presidential aircraft as it entered Pakistani airspace. He and the accompanying high-level delegation were received at Nur Khan Airbase by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. Senior cabinet members and government officials were also present.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed held substantive talks with the Prime Minister. The discussions focused on further strengthening the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. The two leaders reviewed progress in ongoing areas of cooperation and explored ways to deepen engagement across multiple sectors.

Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in economic development, investment, energy, infrastructure, information technology, technology, and people-to-people exchanges. They also agreed on the need to enhance bilateral trade, noting its strong potential for mutually beneficial growth.

The leaders exchanged views on key regional and international developments and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination on matters of mutual interest.

Expressing satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations, both leaders reiterated their resolve to continue working closely to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development.

The visit is expected to further consolidate the close brotherly ties between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates and strengthen their strategic partnership.
