Peshawar: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has postponed the hearing of a case against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Shehnaz Omar Eyub regarding violations of the code of conduct until January 13.
The hearing was conducted by a five-member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja.
Suhail Afridi’s lawyer, Ali Bukhari, submitted a written reply and also filed a request challenging the admissibility of the case. However, ECP officials noted that the request was not signed by the Chief Minister. The Commission directed Bukhari to resubmit the request with proper authorization.
The Chief Election Commissioner ordered that a power of attorney be submitted before the next hearing. The case has now been adjourned to January 13.
