Pakistan Customs Enforcement in Karachi seized Iranian smuggled petroleum products valued at Rs165 million during a long-duration, intelligence-based operation at the Northern Bypass, officials said.

Collector Customs Enforcement, Moeenuddin Wani, stated that the operation began at 2:00 pm and continued until 11:30 pm. Customs teams raided five dumping points disguised as petrol pumps, where petroleum products were being illegally stored and distributed.

A Mazda vehicle specially designed for transporting petroleum products was also seized during the operation, carrying Iranian diesel. The vehicle’s estimated value is Rs20 million. The total value of the seized consignment and vehicle amounts to Rs365 million.

Officials reported that 43,000 liters of Iranian diesel were recovered from petrol pumps, 10,139 liters of Iranian petrol were also seized, and the Mazda vehicle contained an additional 11,439 liters of Iranian diesel. The confiscated fuel was moved to a warehouse for measurement and inventory.

Authorities said the operation demonstrates the enforcement’s commitment to curbing fuel smuggling and protecting the domestic petroleum market from illicit trade.
