Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar confirmed that the 17-year prison sentence in the Toshakhana-II case against former PTI leader Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi will begin only after they complete the 14-year term in a separate £190 million case.
Speaking to a local TV channel, Atta Tarar described the court’s verdict as fair, stating that the couple had deliberately undervalued gifts worth millions, causing substantial financial loss to the state while retaining the items for personal use.
Meanwhile, MQM-P leader Mustafa Kamal called the Toshakhana-II case “open and shut,” highlighting that evidence such as Bushra Bibi’s audio and video recordings made the case clear and embarrassing for the nation. Kamal stressed that accountability should prioritize character and integrity over appearances and expressed hope that the verdict would set a precedent for transparency and good governance in Pakistan.
