The process of deporting illegally residing foreign nationals is continuing across Punjab, with more than 31,000 individuals already sent back, according to the Punjab Police.
Inspector General of Police Punjab said that so far 31,377 illegal foreign residents, including Afghan nationals, have been deported from Lahore and other districts of the province. He added that 203 individuals are currently present at designated holding points awaiting deportation.
Police data shows that those deported include 11,576 men, 6,679 women, and 13,133 children. Among them were 10,043 individuals holding proof of residence, 11,067 Afghan Citizen Card holders, and 10,267 foreigners living illegally without valid documentation.
The IGP further stated that five holding centres have been established in Lahore, while 46 holding centres are operational across the province. He said security at all centres has been placed on high alert to ensure a smooth and lawful deportation process.
According to the police chief, Punjab Police is implementing the government’s policy for the repatriation of illegal foreign residents in line with international laws and humanitarian standards, ensuring dignity and safety throughout the process.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to completing the deportation of all illegally residing foreigners from Punjab while maintaining law and order across the province.
