Olympic record-holder and gold medalist Arshad Nadeem continued his dominance in javelin throw by winning gold at the 35th National Games in Karachi.
Representing Pakistan WAPDA, Arshad threw a distance of 81.81 meters, securing a clear lead over his competitors.
His closest rival, Yasir Sultan, also from Pakistan WAPDA and silver medalist at the Islamic Solidarity Games, claimed silver with a throw of 70.77 meters. Muhammad Abrar from the Pakistan Army earned the bronze medal with a throw of 68.67 meters.
Arshad successfully defended his title, having previously won gold at the 34th National Games in Quetta last year with a throw of 78.01 meters.
The javelin competition featured 16 athletes in the first round, with 8 advancing to the second stage. Arshad’s series of throws included 78.4 meters in the first attempt, 77.77 meters in the second, and 81.81 meters in the final throw.
Already qualified for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, Arshad Nadeem’s performance at the National Games reinforces his position as Pakistan’s top javelin thrower.
