Pakistan has formally requested the extradition of Shehzad Akbar and Adil Raja from the United Kingdom, stating that both individuals are “highly wanted” in Pakistan and should be handed over immediately.
The demand was made during a key meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the British High Commissioner Jane Marriott. The discussions focused on Pakistan-UK relations, security cooperation, and other matters of mutual interest. Federal Secretary Interior Muhammad Khurram Agha and other senior officials were also present.
During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi raised issues regarding the return of Pakistani nationals residing illegally in the UK and formally handed over the government’s extradition papers for Shehzad Akbar and Adil Raja.
The Interior Minister emphasized that both individuals are wanted in Pakistan and urged the UK to hand them over immediately. He also provided evidence against Pakistani citizens involved in propaganda activities abroad, stating that while Pakistan fully supports freedom of expression, “fake news” targeting the state and its institutions from abroad will not be tolerated.
Naqvi welcomed the UK’s cooperation in facilitating the return of those involved in anti-Pakistan propaganda. He further noted that the Ministry of Interior, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has already initiated the formal extradition process.
