Pakistani actor and singer Farhan Saeed has claimed that India is attempting to restrict access to Pakistani dramas on Netflix due to their growing popularity.
Speaking on a podcast, Saeed said that the best strategy for Pakistan’s entertainment industry is to focus on producing high-quality content for global streaming platforms, allowing audiences worldwide to enjoy Pakistani dramas.
He added that political reasons are behind India’s attempts to block these shows, but Pakistani dramas have already reached Indian viewers through unofficial means and remain highly popular there.
Saeed recounted witnessing the popularity firsthand at Delhi airport, where people were watching a muted Pakistani drama with great interest.
He emphasized that quality content cannot be stopped by bans, as audiences will find ways to watch it. Saeed stressed the importance of Pakistan controlling its content on streaming platforms to prevent future restrictions and safeguard its creative exports.
