A tragic accident in Karachi claimed the life of three-year-old Ibrahim, who fell into an open manhole near Nipa Chowrangi while out shopping with his parents. His body was recovered 15 hours later and was subsequently buried after funeral prayers.

The incident has shocked not only local residents but also prominent figures from Pakistan’s entertainment industry, who criticized authorities for negligence and lack of public safety measures.

Actor Ahsan Khan shared Ibrahim’s photo on social media, saying: “We could not give you the safety every child deserves. Your innocence and helplessness reflect our collective failure. Ibrahim, forgive us.”

Actress Fatima Afandi questioned city officials, asking if funds collected through e-challans could not be used to secure manhole covers on the roads.

Mahira Khan highlighted the emotional toll, writing about a video showing the mother grieving for her child and asking, “Who is responsible for this accident? Such indifference is unimaginable.”

Actress Sajal Ali called the tragedy “heartbreaking” and demanded accountability, stating that a city supporting millions fails to ensure basic safety for its residents.

Several other entertainment personalities expressed deep sorrow and concern over the accident, pointing to systemic failures in city management.
