Major infrastructure projects in Islamabad, including the T-Chowk Flyover, Shaheen Chowk Underpass, and Faizabad Interchange remodeling, are approaching completion, with construction work accelerated in recent weeks.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inspected all three projects, reviewing ongoing construction and progress.

He expressed satisfaction with the developments and instructed officials to expand Loop One and Loop Two at Faizabad Interchange to three lanes each to further improve traffic flow. The minister also directed the addition of landscaping and lighting on both sides of the projects to enhance their aesthetics.

Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that all resources should be mobilized to complete the projects as soon as possible, highlighting that their completion will significantly ease traffic congestion, reduce commuting times, and benefit residents and travelers from twin cities and Punjab using the T-Chowk Flyover.

During the visit, CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa briefed the minister in detail on the progress. According to the briefing: the T-Chowk Flyover is approximately 80 percent complete and expected to open to traffic in early December. Piles, caps, and girders are fully installed, while 75 percent of the protective walls have been completed.

The Shaheen Chowk Underpass has seen the installation of 70 girders, with remaining work to be finished soon.

Ramp One and Ramp Two have been fully completed. Meanwhile, at the Faizabad Interchange, piles and foundations are complete, RCC walls are installed, and asphalt work is ongoing.

Members of the CDA, Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, and other officials were present during the inspection.
