The District Police Officer (DPO) of Vehari, Muhammad Afzal, has taken notice of a sexual harassment scandal at Faisalabad Agricultural University’s Burewala campus, leading to the arrest of Professor Yahya Khan.
According to police, a case has been registered against the professor under five different sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including 509, 292, 293, 294, and 354, with Sub-Inspector Dilshad listed as the complainant. Authorities confirmed that the arrest followed allegations of inappropriate gestures and sexual harassment towards a female student, with a video of the incident reportedly going viral.
The university administration said the student filed a written complaint on October 31. Professor Yahya Khan has been suspended and barred from entering the campus pending further investigation. The university’s harassment committee, reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, is conducting an inquiry, although no final report has been released yet.
The video, which allegedly shows the professor making improper gestures and pressuring the student for favors in exchange for additional marks, has prompted widespread concern over campus safety and accountability.
University officials emphasized that strict measures are being taken to ensure a safe environment for students and to hold perpetrators accountable.
