A petition has been filed seeking forensic verification and identification of suspects involved in the May 9 attack on Radio Pakistan Peshawar, with the court asked to refer the case to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
According to details, the application was submitted before the Special Anti-Terrorism Court in Peshawar by Advocate Shabbir Hussain Gagiani, counsel for the complainant.
The petition requests that crime-scene videos of the attack be sent to PFSA for forensic confirmation and to NADRA for identification of individuals captured on camera. It states that examining the footage is essential for identifying those who incited violence, attacked the facility or played supporting roles during the incident.
The application notes that several known individuals can also be seen participating in the protest in the available footage. It argues that forensic review will help confirm the actual perpetrators and that precedents exist in higher courts for conducting such video-based forensic analyses.
The petitioner asked the court either to forward the videos directly to PFSA and NADRA or instruct a police investigation wing to initiate the process. A USB containing all relevant video evidence has been submitted along with the application.
