Constitutional Court to open registries in all provinces

1 min read

The Federal Constitutional Court has decided to establish its registries in all four provinces as part of ongoing institutional restructuring, officials said on Monday.

According to court insiders, the decision also includes the introduction of a video-link facility to streamline proceedings and improve accessibility. During the hearing, Justice Aamir Farooq remarked that the court was “in a transition phase” and confirmed that provincial registries would soon be set up.

Justice Farooq added that video-link connectivity would be provided between the court’s principal seat and its upcoming registries to ensure efficient handling of cases across the country.

Separately, the Federal Constitutional Court announced its winter vacation schedule. A formal notification stated that the court would observe winter recess from December 22, 2025, to January 4, 2026.

Despite the break, the court clarified that urgent matters and fixed cases would continue to be heard during the holidays. The court’s administrative offices will also remain open throughout the recess.

The Federal Constitutional Court will resume regular proceedings on January 5, 2026.
