LAHORE, June 22 (ABC): Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) – the two major allies in the government, have now decided to jointly contest the by elections on twenty Punjab Assembly (PA) seats.

It is learnt by Online that Pakistan Peoples Party’s leadership has directed its candidates on twenty PA seats to withdraw their nomination papers and support the PML-N candidates.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had announced to hold by-elections on twenty different seats of Punjab Assembly in different districts as twenty Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) dissident MPAs, who had voted for PML-N’s Hamza Shehbaz during the election for province’s Chief Minister, were de-seated.

The PPP, according to well-informed sources, has given directions to its local leadership and electoral candidates to run PML-N candidates’ campaign.
