The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested two suspects involved in a financial fraud targeting Senator Falak Naz, officials said.
According to authorities, the suspects impersonated the CEO of Shaukat Khanum Hospital to defraud the senator. Using WhatsApp, they allegedly tricked Senator Falak Naz into transferring Rs 485,500.
The suspects, identified as Muhammad Nadeem and Asad Falak, hail from Basti Gumay Wala. They were arrested following a raid in Bahawalnagar district.
The case has been registered under FIR 308/2025, with sections 14, 34, 109, 419, and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code invoked. Authorities are also investigating the potential involvement of other accomplices.
Officials said further investigations are ongoing to identify any additional facilitators and prevent similar cyber fraud incidents.
