The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore has granted the prosecution a final chance to submit records in the 9 May cases against Dr. Yasmin Rashid, including charges related to the burning and protest at Askari Tower.
During the hearing before ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gul, Dr. Rashid’s bail applications in four separate cases were discussed. The prosecution requested more time to provide the case records, citing attendance at a meeting as the reason for not presenting arguments.
The court expressed displeasure over the delay and warned that if the records are not submitted in the next hearing, it may proceed with a decision without them. The bail hearings have now been postponed until November 15.
Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s lawyer stated that all arguments supporting the bail applications have already been presented, along with copies of previous court decisions, and blamed the prosecution’s delay for holding up the process.
Dr. Rashid has filed bail requests in cases related to police vehicles being set on fire near Mughalpura, Zaman Park, and Jinnah House areas during the 9 May protests.
