A police officer in Lahore has been arrested for firing a gun in public in the Sundhar area, authorities confirmed.
The officer has been identified as SHO Sindhar, Inspector Asad Iqbal, who reportedly fired a non-licensed weapon in open areas. According to the First Information Report (FIR), a loaded gun and four bullet shells were recovered from the officer. Videos of his previous public firing had also gone viral.
Inspector Asad Iqbal is currently posted with the Muhajid Squad, and a case has been registered against him at Sindhar Police Station under police supervision.
SP President Division, Rana Hussain Tahir, stated that the officer has been taken into custody and an investigation has begun. DIG Operations Lahore, Muhammad Faisal Kamran, warned that those involved in firing and displaying weapons in public will not be shown any leniency.
