Punjab govt orders freezing of TLP assets across the province

2 min read

The Punjab government has ordered the freezing of all properties and assets belonging to the proscribed Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

According to a notification issued by the Punjab Home Department, all movable and immovable assets registered under the TLP’s name across the province are to be identified and reported to the department by November 15.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Sub-Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, chaired by Khawaja Salman Rafique. Following the meeting, Home Secretary Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi issued formal directives to commissioners, deputy commissioners, the Board of Revenue, secretaries of housing and cooperatives, and other relevant departments to ensure compliance.

The notification instructs officials to compile and submit detailed reports on TLP’s properties and financial holdings, enabling the provincial government to implement the asset-freezing orders effectively.

It is noteworthy that Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan was declared a proscribed organization under the Anti-Terrorism Act, and the latest move is part of the government’s broader effort to seize its financial and non-financial assets in accordance with legal provisions.
