Lyari Football Academy has made history by winning a silver medal for Pakistan at the Singa Cup, Asia’s largest youth football tournament, held in Singapore.
According to details, the academy’s U-16 boys’ team delivered an impressive performance throughout the competition and reached the final, where they faced a strong Thai side. Despite a spirited fight, Lyari Football Academy narrowly lost 1-2 in the championship match. Muzammil scored the lone goal for the Pakistani side.
The academy’s founder and coach, Sheikh Abdul Rehman, praised the players for their determination and talent, saying the result was “not a defeat but a victory of courage.” He added that the young footballers from Lyari played with heart and showed remarkable resilience against a powerful opponent.
“These youngsters have won hearts with their passion and commitment. This is just the beginning of a new journey,” he said. Rehman noted that the journey from the narrow streets of Lyari to international football grounds reflects the potential of local youth, promising that efforts will continue to raise Pakistan’s profile in global football.
