Renowned Bollywood choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan has spoken about a distressing incident from the early years of her career, recalling alleged harassment by a film director.

According to foreign media, Farah, who has spent more than four decades in the Hindi film industry, shared the experience during a candid conversation on a show hosted by actors Twinkle Khanna and Kajol. She revealed that the incident took place while she was working as a choreographer on a film.

“I was choreographing for a movie. I had gone to my room and was sitting on the bed when the director came in to discuss a song. He sat very close to me,” Farah recounted. She added that she immediately asked the director to leave the room following what she described as inappropriate behaviour.

Reflecting on the pressures she faced at the time, Farah said she continued working because she had financial responsibilities. “I had to work under all circumstances because we didn’t have that much money. Today, I want to earn enough so that my children never have to face such difficulties,” she said.

Twinkle Khanna, who was present during the incident, corroborated Farah’s account on the show. She said the director had been persistently pursuing Farah at the time. “I was a witness to it. It really happened,” she stated, adding that Farah should have confronted him more firmly.

Farah Khan is one of Bollywood’s most successful choreographers and has directed several hit films since transitioning to filmmaking.
