The Balochistan government reportedly has ordered Afghan students enrolled in universities across Balochistan to return to their home country following federal directives.
According to official figures, 201 Afghan students were studying in Balochistan’s higher education institutions, including 84 at University of Balochistan, 59 at BUITEMS, 22 at Loralai University, and 36 at Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University in Quetta.
Following the federal government’s decision regarding the repatriation of Afghan nationals residing in Pakistan, most of these students have already left and returned to Afghanistan, ending their studies in local universities.
University administrations confirmed that all Afghan students have been instructed to leave Pakistan and return to their homeland. Officials noted that these students had originally entered Pakistan on visas from Afghanistan to complete their education.
In addition, Balochistan universities have suspended the quota previously allocated for Afghan students in various academic departments this year.
