The district administration in Peshawar has recovered a large quantity of government hospital medicines during a raid on a house in the city’s Sethi Town area, arresting two suspects on the spot.

According to details, the operation was led by Assistant Commissioner (City) along with the Health Department’s Drug Inspector after receiving information about illegal and counterfeit medicines being stored in the area.

A significant stock of medicines, reportedly meant for various government hospitals, was seized from the residential property, which was subsequently sealed. Officials said the drugs were being illegally stored and prepared for sale in the open market.

Following the raid, the seized medicines were taken into custody, and two individuals were arrested. Legal proceedings have been initiated against them.

Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Captain (Retd.) Sanaullah Khan, stated that the district administration maintains a zero-tolerance policy against the illegal sale, hoarding, and manufacturing of fake medicines.

He added that anyone endangering public health would face strict legal action. The administration has also urged citizens to report any suspicious or substandard medicines being sold so timely action can be taken.
