The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi has once again issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Aleema Khan, sister of former prime minister Imran Khan, and ordered the forfeiture of her bail bonds after she failed to appear before the court.

According to court sources, the hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah in a case related to the November 26 protest, in which Aleema Khan and 10 other individuals have been nominated. Despite previously issued non-bailable warrants, Aleema Khan did not appear in court, while the other 10 accused were present.

The court ordered the confiscation of Aleema Khan’s surety bonds worth Rs 100,000 and issued a show-cause notice to her guarantor, Umar Sharif, directing him to submit a written explanation by October 24. The judge further instructed Aleema Khan to submit two new surety bonds of Rs 1 million each.

In a significant development, the court also issued contempt notices to SP Rawal Muhammad Saad and DSP Naeem, declaring their report claiming Aleema Khan was in hiding as bogus. The judge questioned how Aleema Khan could be considered “absconding” when her media talks were being broadcast outside Adiala Jail. Both officers were directed to appear in person on October 24.

The court additionally ordered the forfeiture of Rs 8.5 million surety bonds for four vehicles seized in the same case. The vehicles’ owners had previously obtained custody through the ATC Rawalpindi. The judge directed the Inspector Generals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan to seize and present the vehicles before the court.

The hearing was adjourned until October 24 for further proceedings.
