Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended warm Diwali greetings to the Hindu community in Pakistan and around the world, emphasizing the importance of unity, harmony, and respect for diversity as pillars of national strength.
In his message, the Prime Minister said that Diwali, the festival of lights, symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and hope over despair. He urged citizens to view the future with optimism and a spirit of togetherness, saying, “Let us all, as Pakistanis, celebrate our diversity, which strengthens our national fabric and enriches our shared culture.”
Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the valuable contributions of the Hindu community to Pakistan’s social, economic, and political life, noting that their role continues to make the nation stronger.
He said that religious diversity in Pakistan serves as a “true source of unity” among its people, expressing pride in seeing members of minority communities working alongside their Muslim compatriots for the country’s progress.
Referring to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Prime Minister said Pakistan was envisioned as a country where all citizens, regardless of religion, race, or caste, would enjoy equal rights and freedoms.
Shehbaz reaffirmed his government’s commitment to uphold these values and ensure equal opportunities and development for all communities across the nation.
“May the festival of lights bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to all,” he said, expressing hope that Diwali would strengthen bonds of unity and brotherhood among people of all faiths in Pakistan.
