Pakistan’s rising squash player Ashab Irfan has reached the final of the Vancouver Men’s Open, marking his first-ever appearance in a PSA World Series final.

In a thrilling semifinal clash, Ashab defeated England’s second seed Adrian Waller after a grueling 68-minute contest. The Pakistani player won the match 3-2, with game scores of 8-11, 11-8, 3-11, 11-5, and 11-8.

Ashab showed remarkable resilience, coming back twice from a game down to seal victory and secure his spot in the championship match.

In the final, Ashab will face England’s sixth seed Sam Todd. The tournament carries a total prize purse of $31,250.

Ashab’s performance in Vancouver has been hailed as a major breakthrough for Pakistan squash, reviving hopes of the country’s resurgence in the international circuit.
