The dengue outbreak in Islamabad continues as 26 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, according to the district administration.
Health department officials said that 14 cases were reported from rural areas and 12 from urban parts of the capital. Out of the total patients, 17 have been admitted to various hospitals for treatment.
The district administration stated that anti-dengue operations are ongoing across the city to curb the spread of the virus. In the past day alone, spray was conducted at 361 houses, and fogging was carried out at 270 locations.
So far, anti-dengue teams have inspected over 21,000 sites across Islamabad as part of their preventive efforts.
Authorities have directed all union councils to ensure strict implementation of anti-dengue measures.
The administration warned that strict legal action will be taken against those violating dengue standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Health officials continue to urge residents to remove stagnant water and maintain cleanliness to prevent mosquito breeding.
