Uzma Bukhari accepts PPP debate challenge, criticizes Bilawal Bhutto performance as FM

2 min read

Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has launched a strong counterattack on the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership, accusing Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari of weakening the federal government and Prime Minister during his tenure as foreign minister.

Responding to a press conference by Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon, Uzma Bukhari said she fully accepts his challenge for a debate but urged him to appear in person instead of sending a proxy. She added that PPP’s narrative on “political exploitation of Punjab’s flood victims” has failed to gain traction.

Bukhari further alleged that Bilawal Bhutto, even while serving as foreign minister, undermined his own party and the coalition government. “Those who cannot maintain harmony within their own families—between father and son try to hide their failures by making baseless accusations against others,” she remarked.

She accused the PPP of conspiring against both the federal and Punjab governments, saying the party becomes hostile whenever Punjab progresses. “When asked about their performance, they resort to playing the provincial card instead of answering questions,” she added.
