Pakistan’s cricket fraternity is celebrating a double dose of wedding joy as two national cricketers, Test batsman Kamran Ghulam and spinner Abrar Ahmed — have tied the knot in separate ceremonies held in Peshawar and Karachi.

In Peshawar, Kamran Ghulam’s walima (reception) was a star-studded affair attended by some of Pakistan’s most prominent cricketing names, including Mohammad Rizwan, Sahibzada Farhan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Fakhar Zaman, Naseem Shah, and Sajid Khan. Fellow cricketers, friends, and family members joined the celebration, congratulating the middle-order batsman on the joyous occasion.

Players expressed warm wishes for Kamran Ghulam as he embarked on what many jokingly called his “new innings” off the pitch, hoping for a life filled with happiness and success.

Meanwhile, in Karachi, national team spinner Abrar Ahmed also entered into wedlock, marrying Amna Raheem in a festive ceremony. The 27-year-old cricketer’s wedding featured a traditional and lively welcome for the groom’s procession, with drums and dancing adding color to the celebration.

Abrar’s walima is scheduled to take place on October 6, after which he is expected to join the Pakistan Test squad in Lahore.

Abrar Ahmed, who made his Test debut against England in 2022, first came into the spotlight during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017, representing Karachi Kings.

The back-to-back weddings of Kamran Ghulam and Abrar Ahmed have created a cheerful buzz among fans, with social media filled with congratulatory messages and playful cricket metaphors celebrating the players’ “partnerships for life.”
