
On the special invitation of National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of Uzbekistan’s Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis Nuriddin Ismoilov arrived in Pakistan on Saturday with a parliamentary delegation.
The delegation was warmly received at the airport by Convener of the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Friendship Group and MNA from Malir, Syed Agha Rafiullah. This marks Ismoilov’s first visit to Pakistan.
The Uzbek parliamentary delegation will stay in Pakistan for five days and hold important meetings with Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and other political leaders. Discussions will focus on cooperation in legislation, strengthening regional connectivity, and deepening bilateral parliamentary ties.
During the visit, the delegation will also meet members of the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Parliamentary Friendship Group and tour historical and cultural sites.
Officials said the visit would serve as a milestone in boosting parliamentary diplomacy and further cementing relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, which are rooted in mutual respect, cultural affinity, and shared values.
Parliamentary diplomacy under Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has been described as a key step in promoting peace, stability, and cooperation in the region, with this visit seen as a significant development in Pakistan-Uzbekistan ties.
